  Ecuador

In 2005 Fraser led a group of youngsters from Kingston Grammar School to Ecuador on a month long development programme. Central to this expedition is Fraser’s belief that organised and supported expeditions have a major effect upon personal standards and development of youngsters.

Together they reached the summit of two mountains in excess of 5000m, El Corazon and Pasachoa, before attempting Cotopaxi, the worlds highest active volcano at 5900m. After 8 hours of hard climbing crossing and re-crossing the glacier, and within view of the summit, the team were beaten back by extreme storms.

Retreating to the safety of the valleys, they painted a school in a small village, spent time teaching the local children English and assisted with conservation work in the endangered rainforest. Central to this expedition is belief that organised and supported expeditions have a major effect upon personal standards and development.
